Food Allergy Fund Announces Next Summit this Fall in Washington, D.C

Washington, D.C. (July 22, 2019) — The Food Allergy Fund will host its next Summit in Washington, D.C. this fall to share the latest scientific research, improved policies, and innovative ideas to help the estimated 32 million Americans living with food allergies. The event will be on November 14, 2019 at the Newseum.

CNN Political Reporter and Editor-at-Large Chris Cillizza will host the Summit and speakers include United States Senator Richard Blumenthal, U.S. Representative Ro Khanna and leading doctors and scientists, chefs, policymakers, entrepreneurs, journalists and advocates for a day of learning, raising awareness, and funding research.

The sold-out inaugural Food Allergy Fund Summit was recently held in New York at The Paley Center for Media bringing together similar stakeholders for a thought leadership discussion and action-oriented event.

Food Allergies are an emerging public health crisis. Six million children—out of 32 million Americans overall—are affected by food allergies. That's about two children per classroom – a 50% increase from 1997 to 2011, and one in 10 adults. Every three minutes, a person visits the emergency room due to an allergic reaction.
