Food Allergy Fund Virtual Summit Gathers Doctors, Entrepreneurs and Celebrity Chefs from Around the World

New York, NY, (May 26, 2020) — To mark Food Allergy Awareness month and to stay safe at home due to COVID-19, the Food Allergy Fund is hosting its first-ever virtual Summit. The event will feature online presentations from leading doctors, scientists and entrepreneurs, a cook-off with celebrity chefs, and a concert with a favorite food allergy advocate. The Virtual Summit will take place at www.foodallergyfund.org from May 26 – May 29, 2020.

Food Allergies are an emerging public health crisis. Six million children—out of 32 million Americans overall—are affected by food allergies. That's about two children per classroom – a 50% increase from 1997 to 2011, and one in 10 adults. Every three minutes, a person visits the emergency room due to an allergic reaction.

“Our summits are critical fundraisers to help us bridge the funding gap for the latest scientific research to identify the underlying causes and treatments for food allergies,” said Ilana Golant, Founder of the Food Allergy Fund. “Now more than ever, we need research into chronic diseases that affect tens of millions of people today.”
